Hi Everyone,
It was nice to see all of you again today students - between being away last week (sick Thursday, a Social Justice and Global Education workshop on Friday), then a long weekend, it felt like it was a long time since I had seen you!
Congratulations to those of you who managed to walk or bike to work all of last week. I know that's not possible for everyone due to long distances or the schedules of other people, but I think our class did a good job of being aware of the importance of reducing our CARBON FOOTPRINT as much as possible!
Please keep an eye on the upcoming dates to the right - there are some important ones coming up. The first is for this Friday afternoon when all the Grade 6 (English Track) students will walk to Oak Bay Rec Centre for a swim. There is no cost for this as the PAC helps us pay for this part of our Physical Education (P.E.) curriculum. Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes, keep an eye on the weather and dress appropriately - don't forget to bring your swimsuit and towel!
Also, re: the Friday swim. There was an error on the notice that went home and there is no tear off portion for you to bring back- tomorrow afternoon I will give you a permission slip for your parent or guardian to sign. It must be returned by Friday morning.
I unfortunately won't be at school tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, however Ms. Lidstone, our Foods teacher, will be with you. You will be working on descriptive writing in Humanities - don't forget to think about that cookie and what it represents! You also have Math and Science. I'll be back in the afternoon and will see you then.
