Hi everyone - it's quite late so I don't know if any of you will see this before tomorrow..but just in case, students a reminder that we go swimming in the afternoon tomorrow. Watch the weather and dress appropriately...remember you'll feel the cold on the walk back with wet hair - a tuque is a good idea. Bring your swimsuit and towel in a backpack or bag, and wear comfy shoes for the walk.

Parents, you may have heard that your child expected to receive their immunization today (if you had indicated consent on the immunization form)and then ended up not receiving it. There were a number of factors in this, the first being a shortage of both nurses and parent volunteers. Also, this is the first year where students were required to remain in the library for 15 minutes after their shots to ensure there were no serious reactions, which slowed the process down. Therefore, the nurses were unable to do our class today - surprisingly, to the disappointment of the students, who would have liked to just have got it over with, which we very much understand. I don't know when the immunizations have been re-scheduled for at this point, but hopefully before too long. I hope none of the children are anxious, but they handled the news very well today and were extremely good sports about it.

How does everyone like the new template for our blog??! I'm very pleased - I was ready for a change, and I think the new colours and fonts are easier to read. Note that I have added a reading list of books that students recommend to each other. I'll be signing up on Destiny Quest myself tomorrow so that we can also recommend books to each other through that forum.
