Students, I am so proud of you! Despite snow, potlucks and performances (Thriller!) last week, you (mostly!) kept focus, worked really hard and completed your tasks for Ms. Buikema. I was also amazed at the potluck you provided on Friday afternoon - what a feast!

A very big and warm thank you and good-bye to Ms. Buikema. She modeled being a learner for you - she worked extremely hard, embraced not only my feedback but yours as well, and as a result provided you with excellent learning opportunities and experiences. I know you join me in hoping she'll come back and visit us lots.

I also want to officially welcome Solana to our classroom! Solana (our E.A.) has been with us two weeks now, and will be with us for the rest of the year. You've also done a great job of welcoming Solana into our school and classroom community.

It's hard to believe we only have three weeks left until winter break. There is LOTS to do. We will continue to build on reading and writing strategies, finish our book trailers, we will start to look at classification and make connections between the concepts we have already studied (how do you predict climate change, electricity and alternative resources will connect to classification?), there is the emporium, winter concert, skating field trip, field trip to Goldstream....time will fly!

Eat healthily, get good sleeps, and let's really focus on the 5 P's for the next few weeks. Ready? Here we go!
