Your Booktrailers are on Schooltube!!!

Wow! Thank you to Ms. Spies for working so hard to post your BookTrailers on to Schooltube!! I've been watching them and they're so very cool!
I've added the site to the links on the sidebar of the blog. Click on the link, go to Search Schools, type in Lansdowne Middle School, click on the pull down bar and click on Channels. You'll see two Landsowne Schools - one is in Baltimore...so make sure you click on Lansdowne, Victoria! Remember that we're having a book trailer/popcorn event next Thursday afternoon - so don't watch all of them so that you can enjoy them next week!!
Parents, most of you know through the Student Led Conferences and the "Paper Tour", the complex process that your children went through to develop their book trailers - a "Thinking Card", a template, and a storyboard, were all completed before we even set foot in the technology lab. As well, we have used many reading strategies the past two terms: predicting, making connections, visualizing (images), inferring and questioning, in particular - all of these strategies were utilized in the preparation of the trailers, from choosing the book and creating the storyboard, to choosing images that represented what they wanted to convey. The students are very familiary with the term "tweaking", as the last stage of the trailers after collecting their images, and adding the words and music - it's essentially the editing and proofreading process that we challenge ourselves to use in all forms of writing. I'm very proud of the students, and hope you are too.
A BIG thank you to Ms. Spies for the idea of booktrailers, and co-teaching this project with me - her technical expertise, enthusiasm, time and patience have been greatly appreciated.
And students - all that tweaking? - IT WAS WORTH IT! WELL DONE!
